Uncompromising Personal Care

Hello, my name is Eddie Snow. Here at YorkieSerenity we do everything possible to raise the healthiest, top quality puppies for Yorkie lovers all across the country. We are licensed with the USDA and follow their guidelines completely. During their inspections we have been in compliance with all their rules and requirements. When we started our breeding operation, we purchased the best kennel technology available. Our kennel is climate-controlled and has automatic feed and water so the dogs have both at their disposal 24/7. They also have a door that takes them to an outside run so they have a choice of being inside or outside at all times. The inside of the kennel is washed down several times a day and the outside is washed each day. We keep the inside and outside as clean as we possibly can. I personally do the cleaning, so I know that our dogs have a healthy environment. Our kennel setup is such that dogs are neither overcrowded nor alone. Adult dogs have their own space. Moms and pups are always kept together in their own space separate from the other dogs until the puppies are weaned. And, don’t forget, our dogs are raised here in the Ozarks, where the air is about as pure as it can be. I, personally, care for each and every dog.

Our initial breeding stock was purchased at eight to ten weeks of age so we could raise them ourselves to breeding age adults. That way I know everything that has ever been done to each and every dog. This cost us a little time and money initially, but I thought it worth it so we knew where we were starting. We have a proven vaccination and worming program employed by other top breeders that insures we have the healthiest dogs we can possibly have.

My family is fortunate enough to live in the rural Ozarks an almost idyllic environment. Our kennels are on the same property as my home. We have security cameras on each female due to whelp with monitors in my house so I can keep a close watch on her behavior. Around three weeks before her whelping date I place a heating pad under a carpet square so she can keep herself and unborn puppies warm.  When a pregnant female is getting close to whelping (three to four days before her due
date), I start sleeping on my couch and setting my alarm to go off every hour so I can see what she is doing on the monitor. When she starts showing any signs of delivering, I go down to the kennel and assist her on the delivery. I sometimes spend as much as seven to eight hours without leaving her during whelping. I suspect few other breeders are this close to their dogs.

When a puppy is born, I clamp the umbilical cord, cut the cord, remove the puppy and clean it with a towel and remove any liquid from its nose and mouth with a baby suction bulb then warm it up with a hair dryer.
The puppy is then placed on a heating pad to warm its body. After the mother has cleaned herself I place the puppy back with her and help it get started nursing. When it is time to deliver another pup, I place the first puppy back on the heating pad until the other puppy is born. I have assisted all my dogs during whelping.  I just spent 8 nights on the couch with my last two litters; three puppies each and all six doing fine. Clearly, this personal attention and care leads to healthy pups and the continued health of our moms. I do everything I can to insure the safety of my females during the whelping process.

These are just some of the things that make YorkieSerenity your best source for a quality, healthy Yorkie pup. Give us a call or email so we can tell you more about our operations and our available puppies.
